Looking good Wim!
You must have the best collection of Hystrix and Scobina on the planet....truly awesome collection!
The female Hystrix looks ready to pop.....she has lovely markings.

Hello Richard,
the last pups were born the 7th June 3 months and 3 weeks ago. The last pregnancy took 5 months, I think she still has about a month to go. On the bright side, I saw some movement this morning.

Hi Wim.
Yes my female Hystrix had a long gestation period, these little jewels take a little longer in the oven..lol!! but arent they just the most adorable little rays once they pop out?
Good luck!

Any chance the hystrix and scobina could cross breed?

Yes there is a chance, I know about a case of this happening in Germany.

Untill now in my own tank I have only seen Hystrix go after hystrix and scobina go after scobina. There is no interest whatsoever between the 2 species.

As soon as I move I will seperate the species in their own tanks
