feeding oscars convict cichlid

i was thinking of breeding convicts for my oscar to eat not as a main food source just to watch him chase stuff
i feed him hikari food sticks and freeze dried shrimp

It would be much safer than rosy red, guppy,and goldfish at the lfs. But if the Oscar is large it probably will ignore tiny fry also Oscar may bruise itself by attempting to catch them.
 
Get the fry to about 1/2 or so. Any more and the dorsal fins could be problematic to your Oscars mouth. Or so I have read. I have done this before, but it was a small O and 3weeks of growth on the fry.

did u have issues with the male chasing the female i got them today and this now is happening ive had convicts breed before but the male never chased the female

If they were not bonded that will happen you may have to seperate or the male may kill her.

I personally would add 2 more females and when they pair off get rid of the remaining females.
ok thx i wanna do tht i got a cool albino male with a tinted brown color on top look pretty cool do u know where i could get a cheap tank for my 2 oscars they are growing in a 60 gallon but in a month i wanna get 210 or bigger tank so i can have more Os and silver dollars
