i use oscar pellets (large). Once in awhile ill drink like my fish and whatever im snacking on has wound up in the tank (to some extent). He ate popcorn (minus the kernel) and a chicken nugget (broken in pieces) before.
he didnt care for live worms, and will not eat anything that sinks.
i mainly stick with the pellets. he has a good vibrant red color.
and the mess that he makes when he eats, the silver dollars clean up. so its a min win.
