I have fed him peanuts, but its mainly things like walnuts and brazil nuts(things that you have to crack). They eat alot of fruit and nuts in the wild so its actually really good for them

It's good to read how your pacus eat. I just bought a pair of pacus last week and they're about 2.5-3". I just wonder why they are always sitting in a corner during daytime and always seem scared. They won't take fresh veggies too, is it just because of their young age? Will they take fruits and veggies and not be so scared when they grow bigger? Thanks for future replies and help
They're actually omnivores.
Very few animals are vegetarian. Otocinclus maybe.
I only feed my pacu's free range cow testicles.
