Feeding pbass bluegill bream?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
FYI. if the bluegills are already showing their dorsal fin/spikes i would trim them down before feeding. iv seen a large mono eat a 3 inch bluegill and get it caught in its stomach and die. if you could breed severum or maybe any of the easy cichlids that breed often and in large numbers. thats the most healthy live food for pbass or any other carnivorous fish if you cant get them off live food.

oh yea thats it not severum, convicts i mean haha those are so easy to get to breed and very healthy and safe of diseases

I have raised Cichla on panfish alone and found out the hard way! Parasites and Worms big time! They must be treated, wild or tank raised. I never had a problem with spines.....they go around in a circle 100 mph, like a Tasmanian Devil Cartoon fish until the spines of the Blue Gill (large) are in the right direction.Doesnt happen with 2-3", unless your Cichla are small. With Perch and Golden Roaches...they go down easy! In Chicago you can get them for $7.00 a lb. Tilapia ,I think, are much better for them. They have the B vitamins, Thiamine. This is the most important in a long term health. Thats why those Hikari foods are so good!
