feeding pbass hot dogs?

a stomach is a stomach, but if you feed african cichlids bloodworms it can cause a huge problem because their stomachs are made for digesting that food.

And beefheart that you buy has much less fat than hot dogs. Hot dogs are like all the pig ears and pork butt left over. I would just see fish spitting out all the hotdog because its too fatty.

I dont know why you would feed hotdogs? becasue that would just cause uneccessary waste because of all the stuff in hotdogs that I am sure isn't healthy for fish. It seems like itd be more work for him.

I also don't see why you feed hotdogs. I believe he feeds turkey hot dogs, so it should have a little less fat than a beef or pork dog... but they aren't cheap. I have gotten shrimp cheaper than any turkey dogs I've seen.
 
There mostly cereral anyway regardless of meat type, high in fat and salt with a certain percentage of bug parts and rodent hairs(protein)..Yummy.... But why not?

i dont think feeding them hotdogs is a good idea. Get the fish and feed them a better diet.

it's not a matter of the meat itself, it's the mammalian fats as opposed to fishy fats. mammal (warm blooded) fats are much more saturated and unhealthy than fish-based fats. it's harder for them to digest properly. there is a huge difference between hotdogs - fatty, full of sodium and chemicals - and beefheart - very very lean high-protein meat and not processed except for chopping and freezing.
 
I would just keep tossing in hot dogs,since he lived this long and looks good. I feed Dog food to bigger cichlids for years with no problem,even gravy chunks food rinsed. Im not saying its the best food source but they pick it over pellets and krill.. The only foods i had problems with were LFS recomended feeder goldfish.
