feeding problem!?!

How long has it been in your tank? It can take up to a month or more for a fish to eat. rhoms seem to be the worst about it. Many people complain they take forever to eat after being introduced to a new tank.

Hi.

For how long have you kept that rhom?, how is his setup?, is it bare?, how is the tank temp?.

For a new P's it may take some time before it settles in its new home and feel confident enough to eat, it may take even a month, but if depends on every fish personallity though.

If the setup in bare the P' would take more time to settle cause the lacking of places to hide would make them less confident thus more skittish and lacking of apetite.

In addition if your tank temp is below 25º the P' methabolism gets slower and the P' wouldn't feel like eating.

Cheers.

I'd think I just figured out the reason

The water was hovering at the temp of 24.6o

so I double check my heater and it wasn't plug in :irked:

Thanks...

;)

Now I think I know why my other flowerhorn was sick overnight (heater also weren't plug in after water change)

:(

give it time i just bought a blck diamond rhom and manny it took the rhom about 3 weeks to eat and i was worried and manny didnt eat for a week so every piranha takes its own time to eat but trust me introduce the food at night take it out in the morning it will eat

Heaters unplugged water gets too cold it won't eat & actually slows down the fishes metabolism. Higher temps increase metabolism, mine range between 77F-80F. Good thing you caught that the heaters where out, otherwise it would have killed the rhom being warm blooded.
