I have two Kelberi and one Teminsis in a 230 gal. I have been feeding them Tilapia and food sticks twice a day
The smaller kelberi only would eat tilapia. They are 7-10" in length. This morning it looked like one of them spit up most of the Tilapia and none of them ate much if any this morning. Any thoughts? Or advice. Thanks

Did you remove the uneaten tilapia? I would do a large water change and add salt

Yes I always remove the uneaten food every feeding. And already have salt in the tank. They are real lazy about eating. If it falls in their mouth they swallow it up but not real aggressive about eating.

What's your temp set at and if you can what are your water parameters? If you run a little higher temp it will increase there metabolic rate (hungrier) 86 degrees or so my growout tanks I run 86/88 degrees

I will check water parameters tonight. I have the temp set at 87. I change 50% every week. Plus usually about 15 gallons a day when I syphon out uneaten food and detritus. I run a large air diffuser as well. Currently I have 1-Eheim 2080 and 3- FX6 filters.

I checked my water parameters they are as follows: pH 7.8 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 25 mg/l (this is day before water change).

Parameters look good, maybe try skipping a day on feeding I do this with my bass every week on water change day they do not get fed. Next day they hammer food.

Thanks I will give it a try. One thing I wondered about is our water is really hard. Also is high in Phosphate and silicate. I am currently building a 150 gal reserve tank for R/O water to start using for water changes. Thanks again for your help.

If you want a water storage tank I recommend checking Craigslist for food grade 55gal barrels or 275/330gal totes. I got my 55gal barrels for $10 each and will be picking up a 275 or 330 gallon tote sometime this summer for around $50-70.

They don't eat, just starve them. Hahahaha. Helps me out and then it shows their top water action. Hahahaha. I have one Orino who doesn't eat well so he starves then the next feeding, he's all over market shrimp and pellets.
