I've been trying to develope a feeding schedule for my rtc x tsn. I feed it and a pair of green terrors twice a day. I'm trying to grow out the green terrors cause they are both 2" and my tsn x rtc is 6-7". I know there's no way on gods green earth my green terrors are growing 4" before the catfish. So I've been kinda power feeding. The only problem is the cat consumes the food before the green terrors get a chance to eat so I have to feed double witch ends up with left over food. I'm having to do atleast 3 w.c a week. I was wondering if I could possibly feed twice a day every other day instead of every day. One down side I realized is the catfish could possibly get hungry and eat a green terror and my green terrors will grow slower.

IMO the hybrid will still grow incredibly fast even on a reduced food schedule. You'd have to reduce it way down to where you are stunting the fish. Even if you are feeding heavily he will probably eventually eat them. Best bet would be separate tanks if you plan on keeping the terrors.

I agree with this. My hybrid grew faster than anything else in the tank by far. They aren't a popular aquaculture fish for nothing!

I'm don't want to stunt the cat and he has shown no interest in eating them at all the pair and cat have been together for nearly a month. He did eat the beaten one the pair outcasted but I think that one may have been dying already. I don't really want to divide the tank cause the cat knocks it down. And I haven't figured out a way to hold it in place yet.

I have been debating on witch I want to keep. But gotten no where I like all of them and they seem to be peaceful for now.

i guess ive been proved wrong . im not sure if she was eaten or jumped but the female green terror is gone. i thought she was hiding like normal but when i checked her normal hiding places she wasnt there. i think she might have been eaten the catfish hasnt eaten witch is odd for him. i guees hes stuffed with cichlid.

The large hybrid I use to keep would every now and then eat one of the oscars that people would bring to me when they outgrew their tanks. I'd tell the people now my catfish might eat your oscar if you leave it but it's the only place I have to house it because my other pond is already over stocked. THey didn't care and were just happy to be rid of the fish. I would feed the oscars well and some survived for like a year, but every now and then my hybrid would just take one. Even like 12-14" monster oscars. Catfish don't really care. Eventually they will get it in their head that yes that fish is small enough to eat and will go for it. Until then they wait patiently in stealth mode like the good predators they are. :)
