I recently bought a 40cm TSN that has been feed on peeled shrimp which still have the tails. I trying to feed it a range of foods but relented and bought some small raw whole shrimp.
I thought about pulling the heads off and peeling them but decided to throw them in whole.
He ate all 4 I gave to him and wanted to know if this was OK?

The shrimp are small (2"-4") and wanted to know if the heads and shell can cause any digestion problems?

My logic is that because they are smallish it should be OK, the heads are nutritious and the food is naturally presented.

I try not to feed anything sharp. Also, I've found is that any shell on fouls the water a little more. Watch for puking in case they have difficulty digesting it. If they do, he water quality is instantly horrible, and you're in for some very large, frequent water changes.

Great unfo guys, I going to remove the heads and tails today and see how he likes it.
I don't know what wild fish do, but I under stand that our fish are not wild and I do not want to lose a great fish.

...dont mean to hijack but is it better to feed raw or cooked?
