Feeding Shrimp, head on or off?

thank you ^_^ been buying frozen cooked and thawing...ill start buying raw..( the entire tank only eats about a half a shrimp at a time...lil monsters)

Lucky you, when i was feeding frozen shrimp..try maybe 8-9 shrimps..thats why now I feed them convicts that i breed.

I tried the raw shrimp with the heads and tails cut off but with the shell on the body and he just snapped them up. He ate the shrimp faster than yesterday and I think the heads and tails took alot of time to chew and may not be that digestable.
I think better safe than sorry anyway.

i only remove head and tail spike for aros ... i recycle the heads by giving it to my cats. I recon if RTC can eat a crab then a headspike on the prawn aint gonna botter him too much. the head seem to contain lots of nutrients and the kitties love them and no waste

yup... or just get the small frozen ones that are peel already.

Oh yeah, i used to use scissors to cut of head spike but now i dont bother with that. Can speak for TSN though.
