Great shot! How big is this guy?

49cm/19" when I measured him just before introducing him to this tank. I look forward to another 40cm of growth in the future!

Brent, my aussie mate! Long time without the joy of seeing your stuff.

What an awesome fish, the Jack! Pray tell, does it need some salinity in the the tank?

What about your stunning ca barbarians? What happened?

Beautiful tank and fish. Love the video and photo. I just missed out on one of these the other week, they are a truly stunning fish.

Thanks all.;)

is this fresh or salt? are these similar mangrove snappers?
Freshwater with salt added at a ratio of 4cups per 100g.

Hey Miguel, nice to see you around. It's been a while. As stated to ColeFishing, I am running the salt @ a ratio of just 4cups per 100g. Will probably step it up a little more in the future but he seems to be doing fine as is.
As for the SA/CA's? I decided a fair while ago to simplify the tank and go with something that has the potential to fill the tank out as a solo fish so I gave/sold them off over time. Sometimes a change is needed to re-spark our interests. The new choice was always between a Mangrove jack or a Murray Cod. I actually opted for the Murray cod at the time but although I loved the fish, it just didn't stand out in my darker style tank. As you can see the Jack does plus he is way more active so I am more than happy I changed. ;)

Qwesome fish, Brent and awesome effect in that dark tank of yours!
