Anyone know of a feeding timer that would allow me to cut off my sump pump for say 45 minutes for feeding time then come back on again automatically? I've been turning the pump off manually but I would love to find a switch that would turn it back on as if the wife feeds I don't want the pump to get left off.

I would just get a normal outlet timer for this and have it set to run after feeding through until before feeding or get one that's programmable and set 2 schedules - before and after

Problem is I don't feed on a set time schedule life is too busy for that.

Ah interesting. I'll see if I can help you find something. So you're looking for a switch that you turn off but automatically turns off after so many minutes then right? :)

Esentially that is what I'm looking for I know I could go full blown APEX/ Aquacontroller but the cost to use ratio would have the wife kill me.

Unfortunately all I'm coming up with is this, but it requires some DIY (that seems above what I'd be comfortable with at least): http://www.beananimal.com/projects/555-based-aquarium-feeding-timer.aspx

Great ideacraigthor - I'm surprised this hasn't been developed, or that I'm unable to find it

searching "fish feeding timer 555 -feeder" gets these results specifically. It seems to be the 555 microchip that does specifically what you're looking for
