feeding too much?

is it harmful to feed your fish TOO much? i know everyone has a different opinion about how often too feed and yada yada. i feed my a. cichlids throughout the day and then their stomachs are obviously full because their big but they still eat like i didn't even feed them. so i feed a little more, and then they kinda start spitting the food back out, so that's when i chill out. hmm. some advice please?

some fish do not know when to stop eating. I fed my fish this way, it makes the water dirtier. I feed small portions, but several times a day.

i feed until either they stop or after a 10 minute period

i make sure they eat everything and then net out uneaten food when nessesary

that's EXACTLY what i mean bro. i make SURE they eat all of it. and they do, and when they stop, then i stop.

How many times do you feed your fish in a day?

Their are many species of fish that are notorious for overeating. It can cause all sorts of problems from effecting their swim bladder, or worst case scenario, death. It's much better to feed several small meals then just one giant meal.
