I grew up in musky/pike territory, and later worked in the far northern reaches of Alberta where Northern Pike are plentiful, and ducks travel to nest and raise their young by the tens of thousands, and while I have seen both species take a lot of fish when gorging in the pre-spawn phase, I have never seen any ducks taken by either. I understand that it happens, as both will pretty much swallow anything that they can fit in their mouth, but common, not a chance. Common would be eating smaller versions of themselves.

I agree with RD with this BUT, I have fed all my exotics turkey on turkey day, its only day they get it. iguana, bearded dragons, birds, yes they love to eat there cousin, and fish. but its only once on turkey day. and not a whole lot. just a treat.

Eels are supposed to be one of the major predators of ducklings, Don't know how they compare numbers wise to cats, ferrets, stoats, hawks etc though.

I thought it was a given that it was just a once in a while thing. I mean...No one eats turkey other than around thanksgiving....:P
