If you can't fine anyone to feed your fish, let it go until you come back from vacation. Feed them plenty up until the day you leave. Fatten 'em up and they will be OK. It's not the best thing to do, but a week is not bad.
Yeah,I agree but I am about to go away for about two weeks.I may just have to fatten everyone up to hold them over untill I get back....My other concern is evaporation and low water levels in the sump and the pump running dry and burning out.

I just left for a week and tried a new method. I set up a 55 gallon tank and filled it with feeders(2 weeks before I left). Treated them with prazipro, high temps, and salt. I had a friend who could come over twice during the week I was gone. He likes fish, but is not a fish keeper. So I told him to take a net full of feeders for each tank when he came over.

My theory is that feeders will not go bad in the tank like a perpared food can if over fed. I am not worried about fat fish or hungry fish. I am worried about bad water quality.

I think this is the best solution. I will just keep a supply of feeders in another tank and have a friend feed in the middle of the week. Thanks to everyone, and I am curious too....how did they make it a month?

If you feed pellets or flakes you should buy an automatic feeder. I have been gone for a week and it worked like a charm. But be shure to try the feeder one week before leaving out of town. Thats to make sure it feed the amount of food they always eat.

My Ocell went for over 4 weeks without eating, don't sweat it..........

:iagree:

Seen them go more than four weeks with no problems. It's actually more dangerous to be feeding them when nobody is around to deal with spoiled food or feeders.
