Feeding Wild caught cockroach

lately I've been seeing lots of cockroaches near my arowana pond.
I'm tempted to set a trap and use them to feed my arowanas as treats .
Our grava tree is producing lots of fruits and these drop to the ground, I'm seeing some cockcroaches eating the Guavas.
If i were to set a trap , how would i know if they are safe to feed to my fish?
we have not sprayed insecticide in our house lately.
should i keep them for a while?

If theres any fear of pesticide being on the insects I would either not risk it or like you said keep them for a while with fresh food and water. Otherwise it would be fine to feed them to the aros, terrestrial disease is highly unlikely to spread to aquatic animals and vice versa.

If you are unsure about it imo crickets and meal worms from lfs would be the best choice

thanks, Just thought of cockraches as I've been seeing lots of them lately feeding on Guava fruits.

Cockroaches are generally higher protein and less fat than crickets etc so they're ideal. As above, just make sure they're quarantined. I've done it with Geckos and Cockroaches but am able to buy farmed Blaptica Dubia roaches now.

Was wondering the same thing. Can't really see propping up a box with a stick working so well.

No....I don't see that as a possibility at all.

Quarantine them for a few days, to be on the safe side; you could gut load them with veggies/fruits if you wanted. Realistically they(the arowanas) are already feeding on them as they(the roaches) fall in.
