So I sold off my 7" armatus so I can start over with a smaller one and try to ween off live food. I got a 4" armatus last Friday picked up 2 feeders on Saturday by sunday he had ick. Smh. Eventually went away next day by raising the temp. So its day 6 now and he still hasnt eaten since last Saturday. Hes actually paying alot more attention to the little piece of salmon on a fish line. Question is should I keep going for a few more days? Or should I give in and pick up some feeders and try again later? Will this guy actually starve to death before eating raw?

Know the feeling. Especially Armatus. They stomachs go flat very fast (even after a heavy meal).

Never got mine off live feeders in the past - even after my VATF was converted to massivores.

Hold out for a little longer, he's awful small and skinny....probably should have QT'd a couple dozen rosies before you picked him up and let him pick them off. Usually what I do with my fish stuck on live. I broke my odoe after he downed the two dozen feeders I had in his QT tank with him.

Thanks all. Yes i have major water flow and airstones in with the armatus.

Its day 16 and still no bite. - he is very active during the night. I might have to give in today and get him some live.

Any other live fish recommended besides feeders? How about zebra danios?

Something that will fill him up for a few days.

Just kidding. But if you really have to feed him live, just get something like 40-50 percent of his body size. Armatus are able to take it all in.
