I work at a PetSmart in TN and I "correct" care sheets all the time. I know more about most of the animals than most of the employees and all of the managers, so they rarely question what I do, unless it clearly violates policy.
Omg with the fish... I know!!!
I mean i am not nearly as good with fish as I am with reptiles but getting better....
we had a lady come in the other day looking at koi fish.... she asked me how big the smaller ones get and I told her they get really big. they are pond fish! and she says "oh so I couldn't keep one in a 5 gallon?"
WHAT!!??? did you really just ask me that!?
It is REALLY had to be nice to stupid people some times....
Petco and Petsmart should be the guys promoting doing the research, but I mean like commercials overly done..stuff like that.. .. it would be much easier for you guys that work there, and in general get people to give a crap about what their about to purchase....
There is a flea market nearby here that sells all sorts of disease ridden and wild caught snakes. I wish I had a picture of how gross it is. They want $10 for black racers and water snakes and $20 for grey and yellow rat snakes. The last time I was in that area there were 2 dead snakes in one of the cages and I asked them if they had the permit to sell reptiles and they told me that you did not need one. If I see them again, I am calling FWC on their asses. Flea markets ≠ pet stores. These people are idiots. Glad your guy was not fooled though.
