Got a baby albino O about 3 weeks back, that instantly came down with white spot, and signs of parasites; no appetite or anything. Treated it for 2 weeks, managed to rid the white spot (I think), but just could not get him really sorted.
So I took him down to my friends LFS, where after closer inspection I was told it was "one of those Chinese Oscars", inferring that they were mass produced and suffered all sorts of problems. In particular their eyes were a lot bigger, probably due to stunting etc.
Apparently my friend got the little guy eating, in a tank with other Oscars; cut to today and he was mauled by them and half eaten. Feel like I should have stuck with the little guy, but I have no idea if he died from being attacked or if it was one of the problems he had to begin with
