Came down to check the fish this morning. All is well turn on the lights. All still well.... See that my aro didn't eat the last fillet like normally does. Go to get the grabbers to remove it. Then my bro-in-law walks fast by the tank with a bright white shirt. Aro freaks out and starts jumping everywhere. Smashing hard into this and that. Then belly up. Then it sinks, rights itself, curls up mouth to tail and slowly rolls. Gets to its side then springs up and smashes again. Then sinks, tail up in a headstand, springs up and smashes again. Then then next 35-40 mins of sinking, curling and righting itself for a few seconds of swimming only to sink again. I got a vid of the tail end with some of the sinking and rolling. Now about 1hr later it is very unstable and slow moving.

Hoping it was just a k.o. and she will come back full strength but I honestly don't know at this point. Positive is it keeps righting itself.

Will post the vid once it loads.

Tank is a 180gal. Small for it now but the pond space is about ready to but built just have to wait until the wife goes back to work from having our latest daughter witch is due any day now.

Sorry to hear....hope it'll work itself out.

Thanks. It is still unstable.

Here is the vid.

Maybe it damaged its spine when it first rammed the glass. I know it is a hurt feeling right now. But hopefully things will work out and your Arowana will be okay.

That's bad news sorry to hear this, your aro looks very disorientated from the bang on the head but seems like it's not broken it's back or anything really serious as it's mobile at times , hopefully it'll stop seeing stars and come round soon , Imo it'll be fine it looks like it's able to swim etc

It is possible. I have had them k.o. before when smaller but never this bad. I know there is nothing else I can do but wait. Light is off, everyone is away from the tank, and it can relax.

Drops the stomach when you have had it for a few years from eggsack and it goes belly up.

Also don't mind my allergies. Gives me the sniffles this time of year. Things are melting outside and I always get hit hard with them. Didn't think it was that noticeable in the vid. Holding back a bad cough through the whole thing witch is why it was shaking at times.

2 hrs after now. Still moving slow and stoping to rest on the bottom. Tore up fins, a few cunks missing from its head, bruising along its back from the head to the dorcil. Seems to be better balanced now. Hopefully it is past it and doesn't have Internal injuries.

It hit probably 14 times total at full force. Both on the top and sides of the tank. Never have I had an aro hit that much and that hard so fast. For the first hour I was sure it was a dead fish. The vid was after that first hour and was actually an improvement on how it was functioning.

Now to wait and see if it holds out the next few days. Then I'll be able to rest easy. Sucks this is the start of a 60hr work week tonight so I can't keep an eye on it.

Can have internal and possibly brain damage. Might have to put it to sleep if it doesn't get better in a week.

I hope it gets well soon!

Keep the faith it's gone from a dead fish to a semi functioning fish within an hour , I'm sure it'll come round , all it needs now is time and as little stress as it can get so being at work may not be a bad thing with quite at home and lights out , there's not much that can be done at this stage anyway it's all down to his survival instinct , hope he pulls through

Sorry to hear, hope your aro pulls through, I know I'd be upset
