Sure they do, till they 5'' or so and they decide that their schoolmates have to die. Anytime Ive kept a pair one kills the other. They grow much faster solo anyways. I do agree that they are the best algae eaters around and just look nice. I have one in almost all my tanks

Exactly thats why you need three......they don't do well at all in pairs......
