:screwy: Howcome fei fengs (flagtail prochilodus, phoenix, semaprochilodus theraponura, taeniurus, JARAQUI!) are all from my country (amazon) and are only sold outside? This truly pisses me off! Asian aros are from asia and it is where they can be found!...here in brasil asian aros are nowhere to be found, blacks are a true rarity and silvers are occasional!! Im very mad, hehe, since brazilian LFS should always have at least a theraponura, but nooooooooo, we got nothing! this sux! Heres a pic of a theraponura i got VERYYYYY luckily:
I saw a TV documentry, which shows somebody feeding Fei Fengs(all cut into halves) to the pink dophins in Amazon.

I think you should try your luck at your local market.

I plan on getting one in the next couple of months, I know they are not common in Arizona USA but there are probably a few around, have not looked yet, no water in my tank yet.

I also would like to get one, but have never seen one here in Manitoba, Canada. I was also looking at a Mexican Dragon Eel that costs $499! It's crazy how much the price can vary from place to place.

Does anyone know which name the red tailed flagtail goes to the name insignis or semeprochlodus?

And, Fei Fengs at those size is going at about S$150 each:eek:

And, I also saw in a book by a Japanese Tropica fish import/export giant(can't remember the name) which shows some medium-sized royal plecos they caught, on display on the floor, can't tell whether they were Xingu or Goldlines or just a regular L27 but the pics definitely made me *slurp*

Imagine, how easy to just get hold of one somewhere in those rivers, and they costs quite a bit here in SG. I remember getting a 12 to 14 inches Xingu and Peru Green for about S$500 each.

And, one of our fish farm owner here have ever imported one of those pink dolphins at a staggering 6-digit Sing dollar:grinno: But that dolphin I heard ended up dead on arrival.

the only solution would be contacting fishermen from the amazon...but how would u bypass the airport security? ive heard IBAMA guys are really strict when it comes to catching wild fish...

Live in South America, esp Peru.
There are just too many fishes that I craved for that originate from Amazon, and this includes, piranha types like Serrasalmus Geryi, Diamond Rhombeus and Elongatus, which Singapore bans and impose v high penalty if caught 'importing' or 'owning' one.

Talking about being 'lucky' being a fish hobbyists in Singapore, perhaps with the exceptions that we get the best selection and quality of Asian arowanas in Singapore, that's all.
