Wish I was there to contribute my skills and help out.

Thanks to all that has laid down a nice thread. Zennzzo,I grew up in the O.C.,Newport Beach,Costa Mesa,Rancho Santa Marguerita,Mission Viejo. The company that built is in Las Vegas. AcrylicTankManufacture. They did an awesome job on the fabricating of the tank.
The spec's are, 30ft.long X 6.5ft.high x 10ft.wide. The stand is 2ft., so together it stands 8.5ft.high. It has 9 viewing acrylic panels. 8 of them are 1.25" thick. The biggest acrylic panel that faces my bed is 6ft. X 15ft. and is 1.5" thick. I had a concrete pad poured for the house and where the tank would set,it was made 18" thick with extra thick rebars.I had it engineered to make sure it wouldn't sink. It was trucked in from Las Vegas to central Florida on a flat bed truck. I had a crane take it of the truck and put on the house pad, then the house was built around it. The body of the tank is made out of reinforced fiberglass. If anybody has any questions except the cost of the tank,I wil be glad to answer you. I'm the fat guy in the pictures, lol.

jealous much lol

lol id make my pool into a pond and downstairs into a huge tank but dont have the $$ lol or the yes to do it haha

Holy! That is one nice looking tank in progress! When I win the lottery I'll hire you guys to make me one! :)

Nice pat. I can't believe they are only 1.25-1.5" acrylic. That seems light but what do I know about tanks this large. All I know is acrylic that think is not cheep.

what's going in this bad boy? I think I know at least one monster that's going in it. Or at least should.

Est. how long till it will have fish? and can you give us some insight on how it will all be filtered?

The tank has been design for mainly one type of fish-Arapaima Gigas. It will be a all South American tank. I have kept Pima's and fished for them in S.A. for over 27 years. In 1985 I built a 1,500 gallon tank out of marine plywood and fiberglass. I have design this new tank after my old one,Its just 10 times bigger ! I'm using a Triton sand pool filter but,I will use pea gravel for it. This is what I used on the 1,500 and there was never a problem with the water.
Thanks to all the responeses and all the PM's.This is a small house and there is not much room to work with. The number of volunteers is unbelievable and I want to thank all of you.
I due need a qualified electrician this Sunday if it's possible.
Once the tank is done and filled with fish I'm going to have a open house for everbody that lives in this town and any MFK'ers that whant to come by.

Man would I love to be around you when you openthis bad boy up. Are you keeping one gigas or two? and will you be growing them out or are you going to try to get someone who has one they need to get rid of.

also are you going to do any big cats? RTC TSN?
