Female betta building a nest?.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That definitely is a female, but I have never seen female bettas build bubble nests . . . And I used to breed them all of the time. XP It does not look like a male (round tail betta, short tail betta, whatever you wanna call it) at all. The head is far too small. It's a female . . . and there is no way that it'll breed on its own, lol. Males tend to build bubble nests in hopes of a female coming along. But yeah, it's a female . . . a lesbian. XD Jk jk.

I agree with Fish On Fire At first glance, looked like a female. Another way to tell. Put a PROPER male in the tank, if they fight relentlessly, its a male. if not. Female.

I am thinking of getting a male betta. I'd love to experiement to see if I added a male betta. See if they would spawn in the nest build by my female betta.

Course I used to have real breeder bettas, I'm spoiled and if I got a male betta, I'd prefer a breeder betta. I find the local petshop male bettas quite ugly by comparison and breeder bettas are hard to come by.

Buy from the net. Dr Fosters and Smith.

Or

keep searching untill you find a good quality betta like a crown-tail, double tail etc.
