Canada, eh.
I have what I think to be a female convict....in the 2" to 3" range at present...I'm pretty sure it's female (short rounded dorsal fins, but no orange coloring). What do you guys think? I posted on another site, and I got mixed responses.

Picked it up after returning my female GT a few days ago. The male I had in the tank before adding this one, has turned a very dark grey/black since I've introduced this one. He chases the new one around quite a bit, but never does any harm....it's like he's following it constantly, quite humerous.

I think it is a female because the male would have a hunp on his head at that size. but I an not sure.

looks like a young male to me

the orange on the females is pretty much always there, doesnt just come when she's in the mood

i have babies, around 3 months old now that have orange bellys already

the humps pretty much depend on the agression of cons, my male didnt have a hump untill he had babies to protect, as soon as he was removed from them, no more hump

Sounds like only time will tell, I'm getting mixed messages here. Does the fact that the other convict in the tank (100% sure it's male) follows this one around all the time?....I've even seen this one tap the male with it's tail, almost looks like they are circling one and another, but then the Blue Acara breaks it up. Never seen them lip lock though..

At what size should I know 100%?

Here's a pic of the other convict, male I'm sure....
