Yea but to get more accurate identification 6-7 inches is better

Yeah, right around there. At that size, the easiest way to tell visually is heavy spotting/peppering above the lateral line and especially on the fins would be a male.

It's easier to sex them when you've got a few in the same tank, the differences become pretty obvious then.

I think I have a male he's pretty agressive at less than 2 inches I won't be able to sex for a few months but he's tough

Yeah post a pic. I've been able to sex some dovii as small as 2".. Males for sure, not so easy with females until 3-4"
