Back in action!
On the wrong side of the divider!!!! :nilly:

The male can't reach them. Some of the eggs have already turned white. Should I remove the divider or wait until next time she's ready to spawn? What's the turnaround time for laying? Is it 3 weeks like my rotkeils?

I just checked she's still laying so I removed the divider. I have a quite evening so I can keep an eye on them. If things get funky, I'll put the divider back in.

Sorry, dmopar, if I'd seen you response first, I would have more than likely left the divider in place.

5 days ago, volcomstone. :)

I saw the male do 4 or 5 good passes over the eggs so far. He makes a pass, and then goes and bangs glass around the tank and then makes a pass and then bangs som eglass, lol...Tarzan of the fish world, I take it.

The eggs were about 4-5 inches from the divider. Is that too far?

Well I haven't done it myself, but Ken does it all the time (if not exclusively) for aggressive fish. I once questioned him and he said "it swims!" ;)

You need some room between the rock/pot and the divider for the female to maneuver anyways....not sure if there's a big difference between a couple and 4-5 inches.

You mentioned "some eggs" turned white - maybe the others were already fertilized?

I considered that he may have fertilized through the divider already.

I actually should have just removed the eggs. If there's viable eggs, it will delay me being able to move the tank across the room, something I want do sooner rather than later, lol.

I shot a video with him making a couple of passes and then showing the eggs. I'll post it up shortly. :)
