Female Festae

Well don't rush the breeding and stocking plans. I'm sure an appropriate sized male will come around soon. I believe that taking things slow in this hobby is the best thing sometimes. The time it takes for you to gather the right amount of tanks and stock will pay off in the end.

I second that.

I want to breed her but its hard finding a 5-6" male... Also I have a lot of plans going on with a few of my amphilophus... I want to do too many things but don't have enough space...

You might even try finding her a mate that's a couple inches bigger than her. When I was trying to find a mate for my first female Festae, she killed four males before accepting an F0 who was several inches larger than she was. She tried to test him too and when she saw he could take her and dish it back, she fell in (fishy)-love.

I dont want to loose her to a larger festae i think im going to get the 5" mlae freshwaterpredator has and grow him out untill he's bigger anyways im sure the male grow faster.... I just don't aant to stick a 7"+ male and wake up to a dead female im just too attached to her now...

Well I can't argue with getting FWP's super awesome male lol. But just because they're the same size doesn't mean you won't come home to a dead male or female. If the male is larger than the female, there's precautions you can take besides a solid divider completely separating them. My male tries to give the female a beatdown every so often but she has a refuge built from driftwood he can't get into.
