I'll dogpile onto the list. I think that you will find that the distribution of female ]V[FKers is going to be lower than just female aquarists. I guess I'll go update my actual profile picture, since there's been some requests for pictures. 
Currently I am keeping ~425 gallons across 5 tanks (5, 15, 30, 75, 300), and loving the heck out of everyone, with Parachromis, bichirs, fire eels, and Cichla being the highlights.

Female here. And in my 40's so that makes me even more of a minority
I am a female in my forties also. I started keeping fish in my early twenties. Got out of it in my 30's due to divorce, etc. I have only been back in it for about a year. I personally know of only one other female who is serious about fish. Meaning not just having a few goldies in their tank for their kids. Most women I meet say they only have them because their kids wanted them and complain about being stuck with cleaning and maintenance.
I have a few goldies in my pond that was a result of the kiddies wanting fish and people starting off with a 5 or 10 gal. then they put in 5 goldfish. I always end up with the last one "before it dies too". I don't understand shy more women don't enjoy the hobby. I love it, and am very meticulous about the upkeep.
