Female Flowerhorn Growing Quickly

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i say get ur parrot out. shes in her agressive mode not breeding mode. when female fh are not comfortable. stripes n dark colors come out to hide tru color. she'll be nicer in a solo tank.

To answer your question. You will want to divide the tank at first and take any other fish out. Let them get used to each other (sometimes it can take weeks sometimes days). When you do try to introduce them try doing it at night with no lights on. Things go a little more smoothly that way. You might get lucky and they take right away to each other or you may need to repeat the process a few times. Also some just never take too normally though it will work.
Now for you-Quote-i say get ur parrot out. she's in her aggressive mode not breeding mode. when female fh are not comfortable. stripes n dark colors come out to hide tru color. she'll be nicer in a solo tank.-Quote

Don't assume things you do not know. False information is spawned in this way. The parrot should go because it could be a problem down the road true. However your statement is incorrect regarding the stripes. You are referring to stress bars that some flowerhorn get during both breeding and fighting not just fighting. This particular fish has at this time what she thinks to be a possible mate in the tank as the owner has stated. That is the reason for the breeding stripes;)

Thanks BastardFish, I really appreciate the info. :)

They layed eggs again this afternoon..so in three days we will see how she reacts to his failure.

It would be funny if it was her that was infertile

I have no idea why there is so much sand on their rock...last time they cleaned it well

No problem brother:D
One more thing you may want to think about in the future. I know sand is nice I like it too, but if you are wanting to breed in this tank. You should think about switching the sediment in the tank. New bone fry can be easily buried in sand but the parents moving about.
