Sorry it took so long to get back to ya works been nuts! Yea if they fungused then he must not have fertilized them. Are you sure its a male? I have seen two females try to breed. One thing you could try is put a divider in the middle and let the two "get to know one another" through it and once they both get settled in pull it and see how they get along. As for the not eating my male jag will go through hunger strikes were he refuses pellets, krill, and everything else you throw at him, although one thing that they cant resist (ime) is earthworms so you could try that (normally no matter how hard he tries he cant resist at least killing them lol). Keep us posted how they do and if your female starts coming around once the divider is in!

Thanks for the response JS. I don't have a tank divider for my 100 gallon. I read online somewhere where you can make one from arts and crafts. Which I will think about doing. I'm pretty sure it's a male that I have. The guy I bought it from last week breeds jags in his house. She showed me the difference between the two. The females find pattern is different than the males. Also the color to. Plus, on my female you can see her egg tube sticking out. The male has a tiny tube that sticks out but not all that much. I however do a water change 30% just now and siphon all the dead eggs. Hopefully that'll changes this up a bit. I will say this. Not once have I seen the 2 of them lip lock. Just the male nudging at her.

I'll try and take a shot of the male. I might have one right now on my phone. Let me know what you think. Thanks for all your help JS. Learning a lot of new stuff.

Little update. I siphoned all of the bad eggs and did a water change. Today, the male jag is just sitting on the bottom hiding from the female now. She's doing the exact same thing as the male was doing to her. He doesn't want any part of her now. Weird. Is that normal? She's back to eating her algae wafers and he's not eating anything. I'll keep you updated.

Oh yea you def got a male and female for sure! Hmm sounds like they are still getting used to each other. Sometimes larger fish can be goofy for a while until they settle in and get comfortable just give them some time and see if they start to come around!
