So over the last month my male motoro 12.5" has been showing bite marks around the outside of his disk. I have an 11" female in the tank that I believe to be responsible for this. They are fed pellets and tilapia daily. I do bi weekly water changes and clean the canister filters every other change. all fish and rays seem to be doing fine (active, swimming, eating) I add about 1 cup of salt to the water every water change. all his wounds look like they are healing fine.

Im wondering if this is a normal thing and with him acting normal if there is anything I should be worrying about. The tank is 8'X3'X2' tall with about 1/2" of sand in the bottom. would adding more sand so he can hide help this.

so my male healed up quickly and has been eating a ton looking all nice a fat im thinking next week I'm ganna let him interact with the other fish. I added more sand to the tank and also sold the 4 flower horns. figured more things to hide under and less competition and future problems.
