Female Motoro Wound(pic)

4x motoro , 2 female and 2 male. The male or maybe even both of them are mature. Tank mates are Geophagus altifrons. I cant see them as any reason of this, geo`s are not pickys. I also have a m8 that has the same combo with no problems. There is 6 of them. But the male matured lately, and ive read that they can mature within 2-3 months if they smell the fermouns(dunno how its spelled) on the male if she is ready. But i dont think she is ready, any way to tell?

can you split them up for a while as this damage will never heal if he is constantly hounding her. the female in my avatar gets badly damaged when breeding but when i split them up she heals in no time

may be from another ray, but it sure dont look like bite wounds from a ray that i have seen before. looks like possibly from a pleco.

i would just double up on frequency of waterchange, and maybe install a divider to keep them off of her.

When you say it, i have a few Ancistrus in there aswell. It may have started with the male, and the ancistris is taking advantage of it.. Could that might be?

not sure what a Ancistrus is, but if it is a pleco then YES! kick them out of the tank asap! I bet it will heal up :D

Pleco's will often suck on the slime coat of rays, damaging them even possibly killing them. I agree on seperating that ray from the rest. If it's a disease you don't want it spreading and if it was the pleco or male she's probably stressed so a unlit quarantine tank we'll really help bring the stress down and help the healing process. She's a real beauty I hope she makes a full recovery, good luck!

I see what you mean, but i think this is a littlebit drastic, i dont mess with things unless i really have to, and in this case i dont think Im there yet. I know thats a littlebit risky, but in 95% of the cases ive done the right thing by doing so(bin in this hobby for 17 years).

And as Longislandfish started, she is doing fine, eating as normal, acts normal, so im gonna let it role for a little longer.

Everything is as normal, exept for a wound.. But im asking for help becouse these are my first rays, and i dont wanna go the long road thinking im in control, cus im really not when it comes to these beautys :)

Thank you all for your tips, il keep you posted on this one :)

And also, this forum has bin at big help for me in keeping rays. There is alot of expertice in here, and i deeply appriciate it!
