is it safe to keep a live fern with a nile or anyother monitor?

just wanted to make sure its ok.

Are you worried about the plant or the lizard? I don't know of any ferns that would be dangerous to the monitor, but he'll probably trample the poor plant.

Nah, he'll be fine. Just get a big sturdy fern, like a bird's nest or leather fern. If you get one of those Boston ferns or similar you'll have dead leaflets littering the cage all the time, and the plant will probably look like crap after a week or two if your lizard is fair-sized.

alright i have one dont know of exact kind ill have to find out but its really bad condition right now came from bigger plant that was dieng so

Just dont use anything that has been sprayed with insectisides or fertilizers;)

yea its a boston fern where may i find a birds nest or leather fern.

Any place that carries houseplants should have a birds nest fern. "Leather fern" refers to several different indoor and outdoor plants, all of which have tough foliage. Try to get one that's already pretty big.

after you guy it spray it down and keep them out of the cage for a few weeks. it will help get any chemicals out of the plant. i would also repot it as well.
