Festae / 350G update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry for the late responses. A few days after the posting this thread my female was struck with an internal bacteria infection. :irked: I think it may have been brought on through the stress of mating. So i'm treating her now. Wish me luck.

I have a male festae just in case your pair files a divorce ;) Backup male for your beautiful female festae.
lol, My male might not have to file. If nature has its way ill be looking for a new female.

Awesome fish bro... Where did ya pick those festae up at? Ive been looking around.

The male is from FreshwaterPredators in alaska. and the female I picked up from an LFS.

Those are sweet! Are they typically pretty docile? Would like to add something like that to my 350 with my pbass to add some more color. Something that can hold its own but wont be a total shredder like a Red Devil

They can be as bad as a Red Devil especially if there is a mate in the tank. Some times you get one with a more calm temperament. It just depends. My male is deceiving... If he is the biggest fish in the tank and is dominant he is a total bully but with that jag in there he is allot more calm. Might just have to try it with the Pbass and watch very closely.

Can I be a fan of them? Especially the male. Because in Festaes, I like the male over female due to that exact citrus color. That female is immaculate as well and equally as nice. They make a great pair...
:drool::drool::drool:

but how come they are not acting like breeding? I see awesome colors like a pair, but not the shaking, digging, and looking for territory.. I heard they dont kill or so mean while breeding. And your pair shows no aggression. ???

That Jag got a good size. That's what I like about them. So who grows bigger as adults? Or they max out the same?

Im not sure why they are not showing off there mating dance in the video. Usually the male does most of the digging/displaying and she just kinda hangs out. Im not sure if she is into him because I have been trying to get these two to pair off for months now.

The pair looks good Rob and that new tank is dope :D

Thanks man, When we were looking at the tank on the floor in my garage I never thought I was going to have time to set it up, but I finally did, and it was worth it :)

Love the set up. Its nice to c some people can actually give cool fish a reel feel home. I Kept a jardini in a 240 till he was about 20 inches by him self and thought i gave him alot of room but you knew he diddnt have enough he swam from end to end constently. But not a realistic size home like these guys got. Sick tank and they couldnt ask for more.
