Well the Oscars are keeping the Jag firmly in the root ornament still, he came out and stood up to one of the Oscars yesterday but the other Oscar came over and got involved so he went back in his root.

I have changed the decor but I guess the Oscars feel the whole tank is theirs now. I was thinking of putting a divider up for a while, I have some clear polystyrene sheet left over from when I made my condensation trays, I could drill some holes in it to keep the water circulating but how do I keep it in place as the back of the tank has a 3d background?

This is probably my last option before letting an Oscar go unless anyone else has any ideas?

I have put the divider up and after a couple of hours the Jag is a lot more confident and the Oscars have given up trying to get at him and are ignoring him now.

Thanks! My missus complains that the fish get more attention than she does!

Hope everything works out for you. I like the look of your setup as well. What kind of sand is that?

Thanks, it's aquarium silica sand. It set me back £30 for 50KG but after water changing with the vac i'm probably down to 30 KG after 8 months.

Better pic of the sand here, this how small the Oscars were back in September.
