Festae babies

U r wrong. They are festae mayan hybrids. LOL I have about 20 babys I got as fry. They are about 4 months old. Housed in a 125g with some kribensis I had in there close to the same age. LOL I cant wait till I get a pair from them. Nice looking fish bud. 3 cheers to you :beer: :beer: :beer:

I knew you guys were joking. I caught on to you being friends when he said he texted you a picture. Its all good. I made the joke about the hybrid. Because them fish are almost alike. And it would be a crazy mix if they were to breed together. Talk about messing up the festae bloodline. I heard/read that mayens are less aggressive then festaes. Is that true?

I only have Mayans. Find them uncomparably more outgoing and glass banging..

Al the festes i kpet i gave them away, finding them extremely timid...

Are your festae real aggressive? and do you have any other fish in your tank with your festae ?( by the way are beautiful)

To be honest I don't find them that agressive. At least these two.
They're with 7 spotted dollars and a small midas but I' m considering removing them in the next days

I've heard a lot depends on tge size of there home or the setup you have in the tank. Like hiding places. I want a festae and trimac in the same tank. My 20 baby festaes are like a school fish eight now. But as fish get older. There temperments change. I have read and been told that the festae are not called "Red Terrors" because they are community fish. LOL

But the cool thing about large cichlids. Is they all have rhere own personalities. I think its because they are large and havw a larger brain they can all act different. LOL I've seen so many different cichlids act totaly different then what text books say. Its kind of like my wife. LOL every chapter is not the same if I were to write a book of her. LOL well 2 weeks out of every month would be the same. But... LOL ill shut up. They are great fish that need at least a 125g tank. Imo anything smaller would be like putting a pitbull in a cage all its life. Not fare.
