Festae Breeding

Someone mentioned, in a thread I was reading a while back, that festae have to be a year old to breed. My pair is now a year old and around 4.5". I have started seeing the female turn that beautiful neon red, yellow, and black, and the male is getting that beautiful pearly sheen with blues greens and yellows (festae owners know what I am talking about). Anyway, whats the smallest you guys have ever seen, heard, or experienced breeding amongst festae?

I have seen them breed at that size before. It is better if they spawn later on though, festae are already slow growers, breeding at such a young age would slow their growth even more.
 
They sound very pretty should post us up some pics but I do agree with GTS totally they should wait to breed till they are a little bigger
 
My female was round 4.5" but the male was 7",the first time they spawned
 
so should i separate them or what? as for pics, I have a horrible camera and it pisses me off when I cant get great shots like mojo, chaitika (if I spelled your name wrong I am sorry, going off the top), and all the others that have a DLSR camera. I guess you could say they ruined photog for me until I get a dslr.
 
I havent had problems with my festae growing. my first batch was 1.5" when i got them and about 8 months later my male was 8.5 and largest female 6.5" but i did hear that breeding was a maturity deal, and males werent fertile till about a year. Thats what just what i heard. what size tank are you growing them out in?
 
They started in a 55 went to a 1200 gallon pond then to a 125.
 
1.5 inches is like 6 months old for a festae ime
