mine grows pretty slow had it for about 9 months and still in the 5inch range. yours are already showing better color than mine though. I am waitng for the weather to improve so a guy will send me a wc. the one a have now is from a petland and probably not real good quality and not overly aggressive.

these little buggers are so hard to sex when small like this! I have 6 growing out now, some are around this size and I am really struggling with whos male and whos female.
yeah i've heard they can be quite difficult to sex sometimes but i think i've gotten lucky here. hopefully one of each anyway

mine are fattening up nicely and eating well but aren't growing a whole lot in length, although it's always harder to tell though when you look at them everyday. good luck with getting your wc one

this is the one i think is a female. except for the black barring i think they are quite similar in shape etc

Hope you don't mind me posting these pics on your thread. These three are all females. Without the barring, yours looks similar to the one not sparring. The fin is a little pointy for a female though and it has a green face. IME when they're young like this, the dorsal is more rounded. The one on the right's fin is folded over so it looks pointed but it was round too. I'm not sure about yours, these fish can be tricky sometimes and sometimes it's obvious. You'll know for sure before long.

Very nice. I agree with you on the one that you think is the female. But with the one you think is male, I am not certain - I could go either way. The one you think is male looks very much like an old female I had when she was smaller.
