FEMALE i'd say ... the front half of dorsal fin shows some blackish / bluish colour and will strengthen more

My female had some speckles but most dissapear as she grows bigger

The head shape looks very pointy too, compared to males' that would be more 'blocky' (this is how i differentiate M from F on some fish too :) )

i agree. looks female to me as the speckling will fade away but it is to early to say at 3 inches.

id have to guess female based on all the pictures EXCEPT the last one. Is that spangling I see covering the entire fish? if so its a male, if not female.

females can have blue speckling all over there body at such a early age. they fade away but even in some cases they can keep some of the speckling for life.

ask this question in another month or so and you'll get a more definite answer. By the last vid, it looks like the blue spangling may be fading and turning to a female. That's kind of why you shouldn't try to sex festae small.

When they are younger they will show different colors depending on what they are housed with, but once they feel more comfortable they'll show their colors. The fact is that festae are moody and can change their apperance quickly, and randomly, depending on what they feel like.

They're probably the most moody fish I've ever kept, which makes them harder to sex when young, IMO

I disagree, I have yet to see a female festae ever have a complete body of spangles like a male. If you have pics, please show me.

there is no way u could tell at this point u will just have to wait till it gets bigger

ok how about now? I think this is a female guys.
