Festae Not Eating/White Stringy Feces

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Are they still eating? If so quite possibly. Once they stop altogether it becomes much more difficult but it's easier to treat it they ingest food...specifically medicated food. Alot more difficult when treating externally, but not impossible. Clean water, stress free environment, meds and epsom salt can be the trick

How long can festaes go without eating? Another 6 days might not be good, is metro+ or prazi pro as good as clout or is it different? Those are the 2 medicines i have but am only using metro+ right now, but if I really have to I will get some Clout first thing in the morning...I really appreciate all the help

I have never had much luck with prazi and cichlids. Metro is a much better bet. Haven't used it in a while. Try finishing the metro treatment and see if they will start eating. They can probably go a few more weeks without food without much issue.

A few more weeks?? You just put my heart at ease sir, I just got these fish like 6 weeks ago...ok will finish with the metro then use clout...When they do get back eating and acting normal is there any extra precautions I can do to prevent it happening again?

They stopped eating like 4 or 5 days before I started treatment, I fed them yesterday and they ate more than the day before but still not the whole serving like usual. Today i start the 3rd treatment, pray for them...PS they are a little bit more aggressive than usual the past couple days

GL with Rx, Metro should do the trick! If worst case scenario, contact me I have fry you'd like to raise. No one has this Strain right now!

With Christmas just passing I dont have too much extra money to replace these beautiful Feastae's, but I do have a pair of Hemichromis Elongatus going on their 2nd spawn so if worst case scenario I would most likely put some in there. But sooner or later i would love to have a fully grown pair of Festae in a huge tank that I raised in my house...
