Getting a 180gal & I have both fish @~3".

Eventually one will take over the tank as I have oscars/dempseys/gts; which would you prefer in the long run? Is there much chance that a matured festae will tolerate tank mates because I know if I end up keeping the dovii it'll be the only one in there eventually.

So yeah im takin my conundrum to the people!

It would also be excellent to explain why you chose either option.

One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish.

Those are my two favorite cichlids...I can't decide. :wall:

I guess that's why I keep both.

Yeah thats my whole problem, I don't want to keep a big fish in a small tank. Having said that I can't justify getting two 180gals for two fish :p

I've herd mature festae arn't extremely owner responsive as opposed to a dovii.. t or f?

you have more of a chance with festae tolerating tankmates than you do with dovii IMO theyre both nice, but id say festae is the better choice

Usless I was droppin' a Goliath Tiger fish in to a 180 I don't see spending that kinda money, time , and space on 1 or 2 fish. All's I can say in an S/A community keep it to 1 Festae if you get a mating pair all hell will brake loose. One thing I have learned tho is that all fish are different, they have diff. temperments , personalities, habits, etc...... the individual fish will dictate what community you can have.
