These were labeled as red terrors when we got them, figured id take two home and grow them up, whether their uro's or festaes, but i was assured they were festae's.

opinions?

Yes, festae

hurray, in that case i might have to take home the third one and hope i get a male and a female.

well i was just gonna add them to my south american themed tank, since right now my biggest tank is a 125, and i dont think they would breed if kept in only a 60 gallon once their bigger. If i can get my bigger 300+ tank soon, then id love to try and breed them, but we shall see.

They aren't the fastest growers, so you really COULD breed them in a 60gal for a while. I bought my F1's in late April last year and they hit breeding size sometime in January this year. The only male I got out of the batch is now less than 7" and his spawning partner (largest and most aggressive of the females) is only 5" or so. Guess that's not bad growth rate, but I always find that when you spawn fish at small sizes, they really don't put on much size. Definitely go with a partially (or fully) divided tank!

All the pics look like they're male but definitely festae.

See my avatar? When you go to pick up the third one, look at the dorsal fin and the forward half should be black or dark blue. Hope you find the pair you're looking for.
