Festae peeling?

So one of my festae seems to be peeling like a red devil does. His lips are turning black some random black spots and the edges of the fins turning black can anyone tell me if this is normal or what it is happening ??

High Ammonia perhaps...if you havent done one recently do it...Water Change.

give him some gravel and background and he should colour up nicely!

+1. That could be why cause theres no gravel or sand. Fish gain and lose color from not having or different color subtrate.

IV always heard that How can I turn a redtails catfish tail red? Black sand? Currently bare bottom. Sorry ffor the noon question lmao

darker substrates will make the fish pop more so yes, black on a rtc will bring out red.

Hey everyone that tank he is in is a quarantine tank he started to "peel" before the move. He started to shown signs of ich so could that be why?
