Yes, LOL indeed...

But how much *will* you pay him for a half dozen Havana Honeys :naughty:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Whatever the Dr, feels is fair, I know how hard he is looking for the "Havanna Honeys"..........
Ill even throw in a Chicago Stuffed Pizza from Ginos, or Lou Malnatis.....
God know Pittsburgh is devoid of true midwestern cusine!
How about a Gyro from the Works???
Pizza from Lou's
Vienna Chicago Dawgs??
How about a Real Cabano??
:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2
I'd get the Festae....
I understand the Not wanting to ship thing, I was scared to death of it, now that I have done it (and it's springtime) Its nice..........
But its hard to judge what you cant see, but don't be discouraged by shipping. It rocks.......
I haven't been to Chicago since I left my last real job and started scrubbing aquariums for a living :nilly:
Pittsburgh is devoid of all real cuisine except those that are served with french fires and cheese on top.
I get the impression that you have been looking for those Cubans for quite awhile. It may take me some time but I'll find you some. I've already found a few but they weren't up to standards. When I find some nice young Nandopsis tetracanthus, you'll be the first to know. Lord knows I'm going to need a few for myself now so that this list (and a few others) always has fry available :)
Keeping this on topic... Definitely do not be afraid to ship **from the right source**. Ask questions from the seller and, if they give you a bad feeling, ask someone else ;) This business is really all about customer service. If they don't want to give it, you don't want to ask for it ;)
For 7 years for a large MRO Company, Customer service was their #1....Now that I am a middle of the road shmoe.......I don't know what they think back @ (Co Headquarters, all I will say, can't get fired, then I wouldn't be able to buy a 100.00 Festae!)
God knows price for my company wasn't! LOL!
But if you don't treat the customer with respect....
Well as the Airlines always say "I know you have a choice in Air Travel....."
:naughty:
I don't want to single anyone out, but the person who is looking to sell the fish belongs to this site. (They PM'd me with the offer.) They are in NY and are willing to ship. (I don't think shipping from NY to CT is that expensive.) I made this post to show them that $100 is too high of an asking price. I said that I will spend $50. I am still currently looking for a female festae 6 inches or larger if anyone has one (just in case this deal doesn't work out.)
Would it really be that much? When I got my 2 loisellei (both about 7-8") from jeff rapps, shipping was only about $25. Also, depending where he is in NY, I could always just pick the fish up.
I used the USPS Rate Calculator, picked a random zip from central NY state and a random zip from CT with a 15 pound pkg it was $49.50 via USPS express.
You got two fish shipped from Rapps for $25?!?! How did he ship? That's cheap...
It just came in a styrofoam box with some subway (as in the sandwich store) heat packs. Shipping sounds kind of expensive, so I would probably do pickup, but that's only if the guy lowers the price down from $100. I don't see how shipping could be that expensive for such a short distance. I was once going to buy a 13" pike from california. Overnight was only $40, and 2-day was $20.
