I have a 10" Festae male in a 120 gallon tank, and a 7" female in a 90 gallon tank. The Female and male where together when young in a 300 gallon tank along with other cichlids, but not together as adults. I would like to reintroduce them as adults in the 120 gallon which the male Festae currently occupy. Should I put a divider in the tank first before adding the female Festae to the males 120 gallon tank or should I just add the female Festae to the male tank without using a divider?

Agree with Runitis.
You can clear a space (s) for the female to move back and forth, just make sure its not big enough for male to pass, and secure enough to hold.

I zip tie horizontal pieces, and put rocks or other heavy objects to keep the divider stable.

I also notch the egg crate around the rim, to wedge it in for extra security.

Very clever. I've done the little cut out for various fish but all that extra stuff for stability you have done is a very clever job. Kudos my friend

Thanks Duanes, I will set up the divider, and follow your idea...
