Rush, my Flowerhorn gives 'aggressive' a whole new meaning. He'll clobber anything he can catch (including my arms during water changes). I've kept Convicts & Carpintis with him and they've been way too fast for even the FH to catch. Female Convicts are so pretty, don't get very big & are great cleaner-uppers. They've got street smarts and don't seem bothered living on the edge with bigger aggressive cichlids. If you like how they look I'd try one. Anything you try is going to have to be super fast.
