Festae Tank/Red Trerror

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
a pair of green terrors will probably work for good and can keep a pair of red texas for a while , they grow slow and aslong as u upgrade u will be alright

My festae spawned in a 40, they were not full grown granted, but they did well in the 40. I moved them to a 150 after the first spawn and they proceeded to slaughter one another (I had 2 pair from Rapps). Fish rarely read internet posts, so go ahead and try it with a 75, but be prepared to make other arrangements. I gave teh last pair to a friend of mine and the male had finally started to recuperate (the female is evil, stunning colors but evil) when the motos he had with them decided to spawn and now the pair is banged up again.

Dude, I have a 60g with a pair of 4-5'' festae, a 3'' con, a pair of gold saums at 3'', a 5'' distochodus, and 3 vieja synspilum at 4-6'', and I have minimal problems with aggression. Oh yeah, I also have a 6'' crenicichla sveni (cause all tanks need at least 1 pike..). Granted with all of this overcrouding, I have 15X an hr filtration and I do daily 15% waterchanges. The only casualty has been a 3'' caquetia myersi I added last week. I think that it was killed by my female festae.

As robmcd has stated, you're going to need a lot of Filtration. It could work, but you need to be prepared to sort it out if/when problems arise. It's doable, but if you're complacent and get into it with the mindset that 'its going to work', it probably won't.

Remember, a 75 is still a small tank.

all depends on the individual fish man!! u can always try stuff out, just make sure u take caution and remove fish if things get out of hand!

All fishes have different aggression levels; try not to get the most dominent male/female in the tank when picking them out. Give it shot and hope for the best. Keep a escape tank ready nonetheless.

I totally agree!..but yeah..I think it would work if you start them out small..and give them a bunch of hiding spots along with over filtration..if you really want that combo..try it..and if it doesnt work out..keep the ones you like most and give the others to a good home..:D
