Thanks! I hope not either. Seems to be heading in the right direction though. If I hadnt checked under the right side, I never would have known there were even eggs. The cons, pictus and one grammode are being allowed to hang out within 6 inches of the eggs and there is no aggression at all. Its pretty uneventful and the opposite of what I expected from them. I had the same experience with my Dovii pair as well. I wonder if Im just lucky (why start now?) or if the tank size is helping. With the festae though, there are tons of places for everyone to hide if either one of them go crazy.

The eggs were laid under the driftwood on one of the bigger rocks and I could only see them viewing from the side with a flashlight. I cant see the eggs anymore and the female only comes out from under the wood to grab a bite to eat then goes right back, but is brighter than shes ever been...so I dont know whats going on. Makes sense, festae are slow growing and dont get big enough to spawn until at least a year old.
